From the genesis of Bitcoin’s first block on January 3, 2009, to its projected value of $100,000 by late 2025, the global blockchain landscape has undergone a monumental transformation. Taiwan has not only kept pace but has actively cultivated a vibrant and dynamic “Taiwan Blockchain Ecosystem” over the past 16 years. This thriving environment owes much to the pioneering efforts of AppWorks Accelerator, Blockcast.it, and Blocktempo, who collaboratively launched this initiative in 2019. Despite numerous market challenges, this ecosystem has demonstrated remarkable resilience and continuous growth.
The Evolution of Taiwan’s Blockchain Ecosystem Map
The “Taiwan Blockchain Ecosystem Map,” first published between 2019 and 2021, served as a vital chronicle of the industry’s evolution, charting the rise and transformation of various blockchain sectors and celebrating Taiwanese teams achieving international recognition. This invaluable legacy has since been entrusted to the Bitcoin and Virtual Asset Development Association (BCDA) and its esteemed industry partners. Building on this foundation, the BCDA proudly released the 2023 and 2024-2025 Taiwan Blockchain Industry Ecosystem Maps, accessible at https://map.bcda.tw/.
Navigating a Shifting Global and Local Landscape
As a leading non-profit organization advocating for Bitcoin policy and the broader cryptocurrency industry in Taiwan, the BCDA has keenly observed the profound shifts occurring globally and domestically in 2025. Beyond the increasing regulatory focus on stablecoins, the emergence of Bitcoin as a national reserve asset, the integration of Real World Assets (RWA) on-chain, and the rise of Digital Asset Treasury Companies (DAT) are fundamentally reshaping sovereign currencies, traditional finance, and the established dynamics of the crypto sphere.
Announcing the 2026-2027 Taiwan Blockchain Industry Ecosystem Map
In response to these transformative trends, the BCDA is embarking on an ambitious update to its comprehensive analysis. Building upon the insights from the “2023-2025 Taiwan Blockchain Industry Key Report and Ecosystem Map,” we are now developing the “2026-2027 Taiwan Blockchain Industry Ecosystem Map.” This initiative aims to capture the latest advancements and identify emerging players within Taiwan’s vibrant blockchain sector.
A crucial first step in this endeavor is our industry-wide questionnaire. This survey will enable our production team to identify and connect with new innovators and established entities actively “Buidling” within the blockchain space. By understanding the current state of the domestic industry, we can present a clear and accurate representation of Taiwan’s blockchain landscape to international stakeholders and various sectors.

The BCDA cordially invites all eligible organizations within the Taiwan blockchain ecosystem to participate in this vital survey. Your contribution ensures that no outstanding Taiwanese blockchain team is overlooked. We encourage you to complete the questionnaire promptly if your organization meets the following criteria:
Eligibility Criteria for Inclusion:
At least one of the following four conditions must be met:
- More than half of your team members are based in Taiwan.
- Your company is officially registered in Taiwan.
- Taiwan is a primary customer market for your product or service.
- Your founder or co-founder is of Taiwanese nationality.
Additionally, at least one of these operational criteria should be met:
- Demonstrable operational scale and consistent functionality.
- Physical presence and ongoing business activities in Taiwan.
- No significant business changes or cessation of operations.
Evaluation and Review Process:
Submissions will be assessed based on evidence of active development progress publicized through company or founder social media/public channels within the last three months. Please note that completing the questionnaire does not guarantee automatic inclusion; the production team reserves the right to evaluate and review all submissions.
